MAADA BIO FATHER OF DEMOCRACY IN SIERRA LEONE.




The road started on April 29,1992 when disgruntled army officers  who were figthing a war with no man power and morale support when their so called leaders were partying in the capital whilst these brave Sierra Leoneans were dying in the bushes  against a group called RUF headed by corporal Foday Saybana Sankoh,  came down to Freetown and overthrew a hopeless APC  government led by ceremonial military officer Joseph Saidu  Momoh after he was handed power by Siaka Probyn Steven the architect of tribalism and one party rule in Sierra Leone.Siaka Steven ruled Sierra Leone with iron fist using his tribal security guards the ISU later SSD to intimidate,torture and even kill anyone they suspect are not in favour of their tactics or might be a force for change,they even arrest their own ministers who disagree with their policies and tag them with theft fearing the backlash from their own supporters,they have nicknames like PAS AH DIE ( until am dead) or AGBA SATAN (Satan Boss).
              Maada Bio was among those brave Sierra Leoneans soldiers who ended the Twenty three years dictatorial APC old and corrupt regime,in the cause of that struggle Lt. Shar Sandy was killed by SIM Turay one of the cronies of the APC who realise their grip on power is slipping away,changes which will not favour the old guard  and their EKUTAY house of lords is on the way.These officers set an agenda to restore credible democracy,but in the course of their journey their leader Captain Valentine E M Strasser try to go off the road to democracy by the help of some of the old guards who try to infuse tribalism.The forces who were against progress and democracy was so great in their infiltration of the  Strasser -NPRC it took a toll on them one of the casualties other than country itself was SAJ Musa who was sent in exile.
             On January 16,1996 Captain VEM Strasser was toppled in a palace coup,according to sources on the previous day a heated argument with his inner circle including his deputy Brigadier JM Bio  on how to conduct free and fair elections,it was so tense between those who wanted to retire and further their education and the one who are against that,Strasser boasted he is the chairman and their leader and have the authority sack anyone.On that  January day after attending a passing out ceremony at Benguema when they returned to the military headquarter at Cockrill Captain Strasser was arrested and sent to exile in Guinea.On march 29,1996 Brigadier Julius Maada Bio handed power to a democratically elected government after a second round multi party elections.Maada Bio set the stage for the any democracy we are talking about today in Sierra Leone but detractors will try to point out other flaws he was involved in,but no one is a culprit more than APC they killed democracy before and they are going all out to kill it again by using money and intimidation but this time the world is watching.

A RESPONSE TO AN ARTICLE IN THE GLOBAL TIMES WRITTEN BY A GHOST.

This is a response to the article published in the Global Times on line, written by an unidentified author titled Kandeh Yumkella, and the Flagbearership of SLPP. To the coward who wrote the article, I would first of all like to say thank you for officially exposing your narrow mindedness, and your obvious ignorance, of the tenets of our great SLPP party, which is One Country, One People, and an even greater ignorance of the SLPP Constitution, and the Sierra Leone National Constitution. The argument you present in your article “Kandeh Yumkella and the Flagbearership of SLPP” is condescending, grossly misguided, a travesty to the democratic process, and flawed at best.
